The San Francisco longshore union, ILWU Local 10, has announced that its members will stop work in Bay Area ports on May 1, International Workers Day, to protest police killings. It also has called for a march Friday from the Port of Oakland to Oakland City Hall to protest “the recent escalation in police brutality throughout the U.S. This video highlight's the day's events of 1 May 2015.

On March 31, 2015 in San Francisco, a forum was held on the the growing attacks on the ILWU and the struggle over the proposed Coast Contract. Participants reported on the continuing concession contracts at ILWU Local 30 Boron, EGT in Longview and the Northwest grain contract and the ramifications on the Coast contract.
