OAKLAND -- With BART and its unions facing off over partially approved labor contracts, Bay Area commuters may well wonder what fresh hell awaits them.

BART's cost claims for paid leave don't add up "If the unions had dedicated the time and money to get the message out that the raise was just keeping up with inflation, I am sure that much of the public would have been sympathetic."
